There was a quilting bee that was here a few months ago. Some ladies came to teach about quilting and some beautiful and creative quilts were created.

Even one of our young girls made one and it turned out amazingly beautiful.

{Welcome Fall}

Welcome fall! We're so glad you're here! You make Canada more beautiful than ever!

Our lovely maple trees, in which we are mostly known for are astonishingly gorgeous... of course!

Well, the lodge has been keeping busy lately! Scurrying around like normal. The kids are back in school and are now starting to pull out their bigger coats. It's beautiful here, but soon it will be snowing... which will give the earth a nice blanket of pure white. Soon everybody will be able to start skating on our beautifully big pond behind the lodge. But, I think we'll just enjoy fall while it's still here.

Here are some pictures of the outdoors here around the lodge.... We had a thunder storm a while ago and lightning struck this tree.

This beautiful, but unusual moth landed on the window-sill outside.

The sky was so blue today by the lake. Such a perfect day to hang outside in the sunshine!

The sand is so soft!

May Long Weekend

Well, the big May long weekend just came and went so fast. It was good for us thought because it was busy but steady.... We started selling Silly Bandz and they have been selling like hotcakes. Most people up here in Manitoba don't know what silly bandz are, but some of our family from the USA brought some up here. They are the latest craze in the United States....

In the store here, we sell lots of things. People mostly come to the store during the summer for ice cream. Soft Ice Cream is our specialty, but we also do sell a number of flavours of hard ice cream. Slushies are really popular up here too. Currently, we have orange, mocha, and wildberry flavoured slushies.

There was a big conference here with firemen and very important dignitaries. Then somebody booked us so they could use one of our dining rooms as an open house for their business. Cookies were the "refreshment".

Behind the scenes here in the kitchen, we have one of our most wonderful cooks. She held down the kitchen this weekend. GREAT JOB!

May Long Weekend.... coming up!

Next weekend will be one of our busiest times of the year! Yes, it's the wonderful MAY LONG WEEKEND! For those of you Americans that don't know what the May Long is, it's basically our little "kick-off" to Summer. Kind of like your "Memorial Day Weekend". So, of course we are going to be really busy!!! We will post some more about it with pictures when it comes by!
